When I participated in Week 3’s Daily Creates, I didn’t expect to do anything with my creations later on. I had thought that I really liked my caution sign (“Caution: Weapons of Mass Percussion”), and it would be fun to have on a t-shirt or something.
That’s why I decided to do the Design Assignment “Create a T-Shirt” from the ds106 assignment bank.
These were the specific instructions:
For this assignment, you get to design your very own t-shirt! Find a blank t-shirt template, then add a picture or some text. It could be a joke, a pop culture reference, a movie quote, or anything else you want.
These were the completed products (I decided to make two kinds of t-shirts and a hoodie!):
In order to make them, I first looked up t-shirt design websites. Tons of options came up, but the first one that didn’t have “ad” right next to the site name was Custom Ink. I uploaded the graphic I had made, adjusted it, and chose the styles and color for the clothing.
This was really fun! I honestly would consider buying one, but the only drawback is that they have a minimum quantity of 6 products per purchase (at least for custom clothing).
