Welcome one, welcome all to our radio show “Walking Memory Ave”!
In our show, we (Megan, Conner, Ariel, Morgan, and I) discuss our childhood views of college and careers as well as our experiences in college so far.
Before I get into our show and some details on our creative process, I want to present our full poster:
Ari put it together, and it looks fantastic!
As for our radio show, I’m proud to announce that it is fully complete!
You can listen to it broadcast live on ds106 radio on Wednesday night sometime between 8:30 and 10:00 pm. Other members of my group and I will be talking about the behind-the-scenes work for our shows!
As I discussed in my previous radio show post, we each created a bumper and a commercial, and then we decided which ones we wanted to include. One of the bumpers is a “group bumper”, which is our intro.
We chose to format our show so that first, there would be the intro, and then we would alternate between “segments” (in which one person would talk) and bumpers or commercials. When we were brainstorming ideas for specific topics to discuss, I came up with a list of questions that we could pull from for each of our segments. That way, we would all be discussing the same topic, but it would be personalized to our own stories.
We recorded separately, and Conner volunteered to put it all together. We each sent a few different sounds we wanted to include as part of our segments and voted on background music. Everyone communicated well, and I think the finished product turned out great!
It was a fun group project, and I honestly really enjoyed it. Each of us members contributed and put our hearts into the work we did, which made our show not only interesting and enjoyable to listen to, but also a fun experience we were able to share together.
Tune in next week to listen to our show live and follow along on Twitter with the hashtag #ds106radio!
