This week was…interesting.
To give a little context, this was my first week back on campus. I moved in last weekend, had my classes fully online for a couple days because of snow, and then started them in-person halfway through the week. It was also the busiest work week I’ve had.
Given the rather chaotic changes to my schedule and the ever-present deadlines for my other classes, I have to admit that I procrastinated on starting the assignments for this week. I did my Daily Creates on the days they were posted, but I started my assignments about halfway through the week.
Although I started my assignments later than I think I should’ve, I’m happy with what I’ve posted. I enjoyed getting to choose the assignments, the creative process of figuring out what to do for each one, and writing my thoughts on both how I did the assignment and what I thought about it.
I’m not proud of this, but I’ve been neglecting my participation with the class and reading others’ blogs. I have been commenting some on Twitter, and liking classmates’ Daily Creates, yet I know that’s not nearly enough. It’s my goal this week to actively and consciously read other students’ blogs, comment on them, link to them, interact with my classmates in some form, etc. every day.
I feel like I’ve gained a better idea of what a week’s work in this class might look like. Having deadlines for other classes doesn’t excuse not interacting with other students or procrastinating. I’m looking forward to the week ahead, and I’m planning out my work further ahead.
