Week Eleven: 4/2–9/21
Links to this week’s posts:
This week was the second week of video. Since starting to figure out Premiere Pro, I’ve made leaps and bounds in my learning. There’s still so much more to learn, but I’m much more adept at navigating it now, and I’ve enjoyed that.
My favorite post this week has to be my project post. That’s partly because I spent at least four hours writing it. However, it also takes a deep dive into the foundation of my project and my plans for it. It’s a long post, and there’s a reason I call it “the essay post to end all essay posts”. If there’s one post out of all the ones from this week to read, it’s this one.
My favorite creation post this week has been the Dylan Elise reaction. As a drummer, I naturally enjoy watching videos of drummers playing and/or talking about their instrument. This was no different.
I’ve also enjoyed the process of my favorite software video. That one is still in production, but I’ll post it as soon as it’s complete!
Additionally, I’ve still been working on my self-interview video from last week. It’s frustrating me a bit that it’s taking so long to edit, and part of it is that I’m trying to get past my self-consciousness while figuring out exactly how I want the video to look. I don’t always cringe when watching myself in video clips, but for whatever reason, this time it’s a little harder.
I’m excited to get to the mashups, and I’m also a bit intimidated. Editing videos takes more time than I thought—not as much as audio, but I need to make the most of the time I have. I’ve got an exam and a project for another class this week, so I’m nervous to see how this will go. Even so, I think it’ll be fun! I always enjoy my creations in this class.
